Scott Hylands, best known for his role on the police drama series “Night Heat,” has died. He was 83.
“I am heartbroken to share the news that my Dad Scott has passed away Wednesday night,” Hylands’ son, Luke, wrote on Instagram over the weekend.
Luke said he and his family “are still trying to process this horrible loss.”

“There simply are not enough words I can say about you right now,” he continued of Hylands, whom he called his “forever hero and best friend.”
Luke added, “Always and forever. I love you. Goodbye Dad. xo.”
At the start of his post, Luke called Hylands “Husband, Father, Actor, Director, Writer, Storyteller, Friend, and lover of life.”
