The Jets continued to get good news about cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers, who was taken from practice Tuesday in an ambulance after passing out.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Stiggers is recovering but he is in the concussion protocol after showing symptoms.
“Really good news on Stiggers, he was out of the hospital yesterday. He’s doing fine,” Glenn said. “He’s actually in the concussion protocol, he had symptoms yesterday, so we’ll take care of that exactly how we do when any of our guys are in that situation. So, I’m really proud of that. I talked to him a good amount last night, he’s doing well. I talked to his wife, she’s taking good care of him, so I’m happy about that.”
Glenn did not say exactly what caused Stiggers to pass out, whether it was related to a hit he took or if it was dehydration or something else.
“Obviously, he’s in protocol, so exactly something must have happened,” Glenn said. “I can’t tell you exactly when, but to me, at the end of the day, he’s going to be just fine, and that’s all I care about.”

It was a scary moment during Tuesday’s joint practice with the Buccaneers when Stiggers went down on the sideline.
Practice stopped and Jets players gathered around Stiggers while players from both teams took a knee.
Paramedics tended to Stiggers and then loaded him into an ambulance on a stretcher. He was taken to a local hospital and released later Tuesday night. Stiggers is a key special teams player and a backup cornerback.
Glenn said he wanted to see how his defense would fare against Baker Mayfield in a two-minute drill, so he and Tampa coach Todd Bowles agreed to end Wednesday’s practice with a two-minute period.
Mayfield carved the Jets up. After an initial incompletion, he completed five passes and led the Buccaneers 68 yards for a touchdown. The Jets coverage was poor.

“Obviously, we let them score in a two-minute,” Glenn said. “Again, this is why I wanted to go against this team, knowing how Baker operates in this situation. I got to help them, when it comes to defensive calls, I got to help them.”
The Jets offense also struggled in the two-minute drill and failed to score.
The one highlight was a catch by TE Jeremy Ruckert, who leapt and caught a Geno Smith pass at the highest point over Antonie Winfield Jr.
“That was spectacular,” Smith said. “You know, he’s a guy who has been making plays all camp. He’s a guy who I think highly of and I think he’s always going to be there for us. He’s like a safety net.”
