Chauncey Golston stealing first-team camp reps in new Giants role

Observations from Tuesday’s Giants practice:

Hot corner

CB Paulson Adebo might be playing his way back into the top seat in the three-man first-team rotation with Greg Newsome II and Deonte Banks. Adebo had tight coverage throughout 11-on-11 drills, nearly leading to an interception of Jameis Winston and undercutting another route.

Red alert

The starting offense failed to score in its red-zone series, starting at the 17-yard line. Jaxson Dart threw a pass to Isaiah Likely at the front pylon of the end zone but Arvell Reese broke it up.

A fourth-and-long ended with a checkdown to Devin Singletary.

Caught my eye

After his fast start to training camp, projected starting DT Darius Alexander has slid down the depth chart and is taking a mix of second- and third-team snaps.

Chauncey Golston, who was signed as an edge but never gained traction there, is stealing first-team reps on the line with D.J. Reader and Shelby Harris.
