Seniority in government
When Sen. Lindsey Graham left, it also left a conversation about USA’s aging officials.
Most have thinning white hair or minuscule remnants dyed. Lighthouse residents even notice it. How much after their Sweet Sixteens should the public follow wheelchairs of our many longtime officials who could call Methuselah “kid.”
Shouldn’t Congress reveal their health? Aged limbs? Skinny snow white strands surrounded with big empty circles? No laws about aged electees? I mean, beyond the price of a crypt?
Americans need to know if antiquarians monitoring millions of citizens medically, legally, physically are intelligently able and fit to serve.
Peter Wainberg, author of “Heartbeat: Pave Your Path to Metabolic Wellness and Happiness,” believes President Trump can encourage regular heart-health evaluations and lifestyle practices.
“Heart disease is often silent until it isn’t. It’s for every American over 50. Get evaluated. Take action.”
Prevention includes:
blood pressure monitoring
cholesterol and metabolic testing
weight and lifestyle management
regular physical activity
evaluations based on individual factors
Spending ‘Weekend’ with Jen
Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner is baking. New Peacock series “The Five-Star Weekend.” In her kitchen for a girls weekend with Chloë Sevigny, Regina Hall, Gemma Chan.
Jennifer: “Favorite recipe is melt chocolate chips, add tablespoons of solid coconut oil, splash of vanilla, sprinkle of salt. That’s a homemade magic shell. You can thank me later.”
But first see your doctor.
Jokes for Jack
Coming at us — two days only — “The Jackie Mason Musical.” A onetime rabbi, he became a hotshot comedian. For awhile he was big. Nightclubs, Broadway, Florida, Catskills. Hilarious and with a real thick accent that would make Netanyahu sound British. So now his real-life daughter has put a whoknowswhat together borscht that sounds like Jackie would sound.
It’s Saturday and Sunday, at Actors Temple Theatre on West 47th Street. Go.
Very Tony nite
Everybody’s coming back. Tony Bennett, too.

Oprah collected his art. A lifetime ago his Central Park watercolor sold for $3,900. He became so hot that one VIP social party was delayed an hour so he could finish dinner. Modest? Please. His quote: “In San Francisco I’m like the pope.” The then Queens boro president wanted to name a street for him. And me, I sat with Tony so often that we even shared a veal chop Siciliano at Patsy’s.
A celebration coming at Lincoln Center. For his could’ve, would’ve, should’ve been 100th birthday. Led by Deborah Grace Winer and with Tony’s music director Billy Stritch, it’s two shows, Aug. 9.
When I wrote the other day about shopping in Russia, I left out that one sales lady said they had many stout styles because most ladies in their country were heavy. I then asked what items were for sale. What might I buy? Answer: “Nothing. No sales. You cannot buy nothing.”
Great. This sales style coming next and only in Crapdammy’s US, where it might soon be only underwear or T-shirts.
Only in Russia, and someday New York, kids.
