An Earth, Wind & Fire band member is in “critical condition” after they needed to be hospitalized for a “cardiac incident” Thursday night in San Francisco, according to a new report.
It’s unclear which Earth, Wind & Fire member was hospitalized. The group includes Verdine White, Philip Bailey, Myron McKinley, Oshun Shango Oshunde, Morris O’Connor, Serg Dimitrijevic, John Paris, B. David Whitworth and Ralph Johnson.

Paramedics transported the patient from the Chase Center Thursday night just before the show’s start for a “cardiac incident,” according to TMZ. The outlet said the band member was in critical condition.
“We are unable to perform as scheduled tonight at Chase Center in San Francisco due to a medical emergency involving a member of our band,” a statement from the group said. “As a result, tonight’s show with Lionel Richie will be rescheduled, with a new date to be announced soon. Ticket holders should retain their tickets, which will be honored for the new date, or refunds will be available at the point of purchase. We sincerely apologize for the unexpected change and appreciate everyone’s understanding.”

HIPAA laws prevent the hospital from releasing the patient’s identity.
The Chase Center announced the sudden delay shortly after 7:20 p.m. Thursday, just before the scheduled 7:30 p.m. start time, citing an emergency involving a band member.
Lionel Ritchie suffered a health scare in June while he was performing onstage in St. Paul, Minnesota.
He said he felt “dizzy” and “strange,” forcing him to cut his performance short.
The concert was set to take place at the Chase Center, the $1.4 billion home arena of the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood.
Following the postponed Chase Center show, the tour is scheduled to resume this Saturday in Palm Desert, followed by stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Austin.
