John Travolta will never stop making movies, no matter how few people watch them. And honestly, that’s inspiring. His latest action film, The Gentleman Thief, was released straight-to-digital on video-on-demand today.
The Gentleman Thief serves as a sequel to his 2025 action film, High Rollers, and his 2024 action film Cash Out, which were also released on digital, and were not well-liked by critics. But that didn’t stop Travolta from firing up a third film in this franchise. Director Ives and screenwriter Chris Sivertson are back from the first two films. Travolta is once again back as Mason Gooding, a former professional thief, and Lukas Haas is back as Travolta’s on-screen brother, Shawn. This time around, Mason is convinced to come out of retirement (again) to take a high-stakes art heist job, while facing off a deadly drug kingpin.

How to watch John Travolta’s The Gentleman Thief movie on streaming:
As of today, July 28, you can now buy or rent The Gentleman Thief movie on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home. The price may vary depending on which service you use to buy the the film, but on Amazon Prime, The Gentleman Thief costs $9.99 to rent, and $14.99 to buy. If you rent the film, you will have 48 hours to watch the film after you hit “play.”
The Gentleman Thief movie is not streaming on Netflix or any of the subscription-based streaming services. The only way to watch The Gentleman Thief online is by buying or renting the film.
Is The Gentleman Thief movie in theaters?
The Gentleman Thief movie is said to be releasing in “select” theaters on Friday, July 31, 2026. However, right now, there doesn’t seem to be any way to buy tickets to The Gentleman Thief, and it’s not clear how many, or which, theaters The Gentleman Thief will be playing in. There are no listings for The Gentleman Thief in theaters on Fandango, or on the AMC app.
So, at this point, it’s not clear if The Gentleman Thief movie will actually open in select movie theaters this weekend. Check back here for updates, and in the meantime, you can buy or rent the film online.
