If you’re in the mood for some creepy, futuristic, sci-fi horror, then you’ll definitely want to check out Her Private Hell, which opens in select theaters this weekend.
The film was written by Nicolas Winding Refn and Esti Giorani, and directed by Refn, an award-winning Danish filmmaker known for his stylish films like 2011’s Drive and 2016’s The Neon Demon. Her Private Hell takes place in the distant future, where a high-rise city has been plagued by a mysterious mist that brings with it a deadly entity.
Sophie Thatcher (a rising scream queen known for films like Heretic and Companion) stats in the film as a troubled young woman named Elle who teams up with an American GI (played by Riverdale star Charles Melton), who is on a journey to rescue his daughter.
This strange and dreamy film first premiered at Cannes, where it received mixed reviews from critics—and, according to Decider contributor Siddhant Adlakha, a few walk-outs driven by sheer boredom. But fans of Refn wouldn’t expect anything less than strange cinema. Where to watch the Her Private Hell 2026 movie:
Her Private Hell will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in select U.S. theaters on Friday, July 24. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Her Private Hell is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Is the Her Private Hell horror movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?
Her Private Hell is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Neon release. In years past, Neon films eventually went to streaming on Hulu, thanks to the 2017 Neon and Hulu output deal. However, a recent 2026 Neon movie, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, is coming to streaming on Paramount+, instead of heading to Hulu. We’re not sure if this means the deal between Neon and Hulu is over.
Her Private Hell will be available to buy or rent on Amazon Prime after the movie is released on digital, but it will not be available to stream for free with a Prime subscription any time soon, because it is not a Prime original. Based on previous Neon releases, we can guess that Her Private Hell will be released on digital platforms in about one month, around late August 2026.
If you want to watch Her Private Hell movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms.

It’s not clear right now if Her Private Hell will eventually stream on Hulu or not.

A 2025 Neon movie, No Other Choice, began streaming on Hulu about four months after it opened in theaters. If Her Private Hell follows a similar release pattern, you may see Her Private Hell on Hulu around late November 2026.
But again, it’s not clear if the Neon and Hulu output deal is still on for the 2026 Neon films. If you want to see the Her Private Hell movie ASAP, your best bet is to see it in theaters.
